  1. Without instruments, you could focus on stuff like basic music composition, theory or appreciation. At my undergrad, I was a part of a volunteer program where we taught boys at a local school how to write their own music. Most of these boys didn’t know how to play instruments, but they listened to music and knew what they liked, and they could express these ideas to us and we could help them write a piece using our laptops’ music notation software (although without computers, one could also write it on sheet music paper).

It’s really devastating to hear about this. Best of luck in rebuilding the music program and the rest of the school.

  2. Dear Leslie,
As Tunisian, I feel embarrassed that a few extremists, outlaws, and looters managed to blemish the image of Tunisia for so long and give the wrong impression about 99.99% of Tunisians who are peace-loving, tolerant people. We are having as nation an identity crisis after the Jasmine revolution but as got rid of the dictator, we’ll drive away this lunatics who are trying to highjack the revolution. In the name of all Tunisians, please accept my apologies again
