Steven is a proud Black, gay higher education practitioner whose work spans residence life, training and development, campus engagement, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. They joined BU from UMass Lowell, where they led and expanded DEI training efforts and supported inclusive student organization engagement within residence life.  

Currently a doctoral student in the Leadership in Education PhD program at UMass Lowell, Steven’s research focuses on workplace belonging among student affairs practitioners and how inclusive professional environments shape institutional outcomes. They hold a Master of Education from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clemson University.

Guided by inclusive supervision and shared equity leadership, Steven is passionate about building community, amplifying marginalized voices, and fostering meaningful collaboration across campus. Outside of work, they enjoy music, scenic walks, anime, board games, and learning about Japanese culture.
