Keara Sebold

Graduate Assistant (she/her/hers)

Focus: BU LGBTQIA+ History Project

Keara is a PhD candidate in the History Department at BU, specializing in queer history during the turn of the 20th century in the United States. She graduated from Florida State University with a BA in History, and received her Masters in History from BU while making progress towards her PhD. She has been passionate about studying and writing intersectional LGBTQIA+ histories throughout her academic career.

Her previous work has centered around analyzing queer subcultures in institutions of higher education and studying how class and race impacted the policing of queer individuals throughout American history. She has also spent time working on oral history projects with WWII veterans, and archival projects with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

In her free time, Keara loves to read mystery novels and eat good food with friends. She is very excited to join the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty and Staff and spend time engaging with the BU community.
