Welcome to June Pride Month 2024! Please join us for these BU events that celebrate Pride and are sponsored by various BU entities. 

Take Our Survey this June

As part of Pride Month this June, the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff is conducting a survey to better understand faculty and staff perspectives on the LGBTQIA+ Center’s first few years at BU. Please participate regardless of your identity or involvement with the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff or its programming and services.

The results of this study will build upon the findings of the Belonging & Culture and Korn Ferry studies and contribute to our goal of sustaining and improving upon the programs and services the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff provides to the BU community.

Some Recent BU Pride Month History

In June 2021, the Queer Activist Collective and the LGBTQIA+ Faculty & Staff Community Network (FSCN) co-led a committee that kick-started Pride Month programming at BU. They implemented a number of virtual programs to bring the community together in a safe and impactful way. With that spark, Pride month programming took off, including BU’s first celebration of Pride in April in 2024.

Wednesday, June 5, 12 – 2 pm
CAS LGBTQIA+ Pride Luncheon
CAS Dean’s Residence, 25 Lenox St. Brookline

Arts & Sciences Dean Stan Sclaroff welcomes the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences’ LGBTQIA+ community to celebrate Pride Month during a luncheon at the CAS Dean’s Residence.

This event is hosted by the Dean of Arts & Sciences and co-sponsored by the Associate Dean of D&l, Professional Development & Postdoctoral Affairs, and the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff

Pride Soirée for Faculty & Staff
GSU Terrace, 775 Commonwealth Ave.

Kick off Pride Month with the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff and LGBTQIA+ Faculty & Staff Community Network. We will have hors d’oeuvres, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as music and a prideful ambiance to celebrate the month in style.

Note: This event is only for those whose primary roles are faculty and/or staff at BU.

Tuesday, June 11, 7:15 pm
Pride Night at Red Sox – LOTTERY CLOSED
Fenway Park, 4 Jersey St, Boston, MA

Celebrate Pride Month with BU and the Red Sox! We have purchased a block of tickets for Pride Night at Fenway for BU employees. Because of the popularity of this event, and the limited number of tickets, we will be holding a lottery to assign tickets.

Thank you to all who have expressed interest in this event by our May 23 deadline. The lottery is now closed.

More information about the event: Before the game, you can pick up a free Red Sox pride jersey and attend the pregame social on the Sam Deck. Gates open at 5:40 pm until approximately 6:40 pm. Find more information on Pride Night on the MLB website.

The tickets are digital, so you need to download the MLB Ballpark app on your phone to access the tickets. If you have questions or concerns about accessing tickets, please reach out to lgbtqia@bu.edu.

Celebrate Pride Month with Boston University across the country! Join LGBTQIA+ alumni, allies, and friends in Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles for a local Pride Meet-Up. Beyond Small Talk: Pride Social 2024

Want to connect with fellow LGBTQIA+ faculty, staff, and students at BU in a low-pressure, structured social environment that skips “how’s the weather” in favor of deeper connection? Join us for this year’s fourth annual Pride Month social! Spend some time getting to know your fellow BU community members and celebrating your shared identities and diverse experiences under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella. Discussion prompts will span from goofy icebreakers to questions that will really get you thinking. One drink ticket (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) per attendee and a variety of appetizers will be provided.
