Queer Representation in the Media

Do you want to know more about queer representation in the media? Join an outstanding panel who will speak about the changing representation, which has been both positive and negative.

After a surge in LGBTQ representation in the media, GLAAD has reported a decline in representation over the past several years. In November, they reported an increase in LGBTQ characters on television as compared to the previous year, but representation is mixed and there is a pattern of canceled LGBTQ-inclusive series. They anticipate that there will be LGBTQ characters who will not return next year and several shows with LGBTQ ensembles will be ending this year on both television and streaming services.

Colleagues will discuss this along with representation in television and other media. Attendees are able to network and enjoy refreshments prior to the event at 5:30 pm until the event starts at 6 pm. Panelists include:
