1st Conversation: Delving Deep Into Your Queer Ecology: A Three-Conversation Series

Thursdays, February 8, February 29, and March 21 from 12 - 1 pm

Join us for a series of three conversations delving deep into what queer ecology means, and how it shows up in your world. At its essence – queer ecology aims to deconstruct the idea of the binary. We’ll be exploring this through the framing of How Far the Light Reaches: A Life in Ten Sea Creatures by Sabrina Imbler. Parren Fountain of BU Sustainability and Allison Reilly of the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff will be co-facilitating this series.

There are 20 open spots and lunch will be provided at each session. Every participant will receive Sabrina Imbler’s book. For those on the BU Medical Campus, we will provide a $15 meal voucher to Chequers for each meeting. In honoring Ramadan, we will not be eating during the final meeting but will provide boxed lunch for takeaway after the meeting.

Please sign up by Friday, December 22 to ensure that we can get you the copy of the book in time. You can sign up after this date if there is still space available. We will notify you once your participation has been confirmed.

We are not aiming to be a book club so reading through the whole book is not a requirement to attend. We will focus on one section of the book at each conversation, and if folks are not able to read the full section, we will suggest one chapter that we would recommend people read before attending.
