BU LGBTQIA+ Scholars Series: LGBTQIA+ Teacher Wellbeing: A Duoethnography

Featuring Tawnya Smith and Kính T. Vũ, both Assistant Professors of Music, Music Education, College of Fine Arts

Dr. Tawnya Smith and Dr. Kính T. Vũ will share their experiences as LGBTQIA+ music teachers in order to interrogate how the dominant discourses and metanarratives in education negatively impacted their health and wellbeing as early career teachers. They will present their performative duoethnography as a means to convey their stories as a point of departure for a discussion on the topic.
