Didier Mena

Didier Mena has +30 years of professional experience, mainly in the financial sector in Mexico and Latin America. Currently acts as strategic advisor, consultant and entrepreneur. His last corporate responsibility (2016-2023) was as Vice-President of Administration and Finance of Banco Santander Mexico, where all support functions (except legal) reported to him. He led the transformation of the bank and the largest investment program ever executed by Santander in Mexico. He was member of the Board of Directors of Santander Mexico, Mouro Capital (global business), Santander Asset Management (global business) and Chairman of the Board of Santander Inclusion Financiera since its incorporation (2017) until February 2026. Prior to Santander, he was partner at Execution Finance (investment bank boutique), CEO of Navix (finance company focused on the energy sector), CFO and CIO of Oro Negro (drilling company), Managing Director at Credit Suisse (head of the financial institutions group for Latin America), CFO at Financiera Independencia (microfinance company), and held several positions at BBVA Bancomer. He holds a BA in Economics from ITAM and an MBA from Boston University. He was Co-Chair of the Finance Commission of the Mexican Banking Association (2020-2023) and the LatinX and Hispanic Leadership Council at Boston University. He was named CFO of the Year (2021) by IMEF (Mexican Institute of Finance Executives). He practiced diving and was second place in the IV World Age Group Diving Championships in 1985, and national champion from 1980 to 1987. Has ran two marathons: New York (2023) and Chicago (2024).
