Rodney Gage (1852)
Rodney Gage was born in Hadley, Massachusetts on August 27, 1821. In 1842 he converted at prayer meeting in Warehouse Point, Connecticut. He immediately became a member of the church, and was an active leader of a class and prayer meetings. His powerful exhortations led many others to convert, and soon thereafter he was licensed as a local preacher. After supplying for several churches, Gage went to the Biblical Institute, and graduated in 1852. He joined the New England Conference. In 1862, Gage joined the United States army as a chaplain, and served until the end of the war. After the war, he moved to Michigan and joined the Detroit Conference. Rodney Gage superannuated 1883, and died February 25, 1911.
