Milton B. Efthimiou (1958 STM)

The Rev. Efthimiou submitted the following account of his life:

Retired, after serving over 55 years as priest and theologian for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of N and S America, and the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople as a Protopresbyter. Ph.D. from Miami Univ.(Ohio). Served 4 Parishes, and taught at several Universities in Medieval and Byzantine theology. Served as Ecumenical officer for the Standing Conference of Orthodox Bishops in the Americas, and represented the Greek Orthodox church various Dialogues and Symposia in Rome, Constantinople, Geneva, the World Council of Churches, Brussels, and as co-chairman, of the Catholic/Orthodox Dialogue of Metropolitan NY. Author of several books and numerous articles on Theology and History, while serving as Exec. Director of 3 departments of the Archdiocese in Ecumenism, Church and Society, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Americas. He has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. He plays classical piano, and is an avid tennis player. He travels to Africa in support of conservancies to save the wildlife there.
