Before joining BUSSW, Toys served as a psychologist and researcher in several detention centers in Thailand. During those times, Toys worked and helped youths find their inner strength and determination to become better upon their return to society. Through several interviews, treatment plannings, and hours of teaching, and counseling, Toys has gained deeper insights into where the true problems lie among the youths that led them to the justice system. Toys then started working as a researcher in the psychology division of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection (DJOP) to further develop more effective treatment programs to help these juveniles.
Intrigued by how youths have been scarred from their past, Toys pursued a master’s degree in education to understand how to better help young people gain adequate education and development to achieve their goals. Toys has now returned to school once more to pursue a PhD in Social Work to continue to support at-risk youths in the communities. His research interests revolve around understanding and supporting at-risk youths and their families before their involvement with the justice system.
Outside of academia and career, Toys enjoys cooking, baking, reading, and talking to people to exchange ideas and perspectives. With a strong belief that positivity leads to happiness, Toys has been trying his best to enhance more positive thoughts from surrounding people.
