Sabeen Sheikh
Assistant Dean, Student Experience
Sabeen Sheikh is the assistant dean of Student Experience at BUSSW. Her work spans student experience and career development in higher education, as well as addressing mental health issues in various communities. Her experience includes work in strength-based counseling, career coaching, social justice, domestic violence, and student leadership development. She has an Ed.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership, a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, and a career counseling certificate with NCDA.
Sheikh taught in the Alfred University graduate Mental Health and School Counseling program and developed and taught a new career development course for biopharmaceutical and biodiversity students at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She has also been a lecturer in the School of Professional Development at Stony Brook University and Hofstra University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She served on the founding board of a grassroots nonprofit, Heal Collective NY, and has served on the Mental Health Committee for American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP). Sheikh is also a certified mental health first aid instructor with the National Council of Behavioral Health and AMHP.
