Code & Tell

Code & Tell is BU Spark!’s monthly open-mic style showcase where student builders take the stage to share what they’ve been working on, whether it’s a quick fix for an everyday problem, the first spark of a startup idea, or a project that’s been in progress for a while.

Presenters get the chance to demo their work, gather live feedback from peers, and trade ideas with other builders across the BU community, all in a low-stakes, high-energy setting built for encouragement.

Code & Tell is hosted by Spark! alum Jesse Belanger (Senior Software Lead at EZCater) and Jack Lull (Chief Scientist at Adobe), along with the Spark! staff.

October 7 & November 4. Code & Tell meets monthly at 6:00 PM in the Spark! Space (Duan Family Center for Computing & Data Sciences, Floor 2).

March Code & Tell Recap: From Autonomous Rovers to AI-Powered Study Companions

March’s demo night featured two standout projects tackling very different problems. Joshua Robins presented VisionRover, a personal project on autonomous systems and getting software intelligence to communicate with real-world hardware. Jack He, Andres Lopez, Jose Gael Cruz-Lopez, and Luke Cooper showed Sapling, an AI-powered study companion that builds a live knowledge graph as you study — a project that won the AI in Education track at CivicHacks 2026.
