Required Programs
If you had a substance-related experience at BU that resulted in a sanction from Residence Life or the Office of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution (OSCCR), you may be required to participate in an educational program.
These programs are an opportunity to connect with someone about your substance use in a confidential space or learn more about safer substance use through an online training. Please review your University sanction letter to identify which program you are required to participate in.
BASICS
BASICS are confidential and non-judgmental meetings with a SHS staff member. Students can talk about their alcohol or other drug use, receive personalized feedback, and discuss strategies to help them navigate substances in a safer way.
You may be required to attend two BASICS meetings if you have had a substance-related experience at BU that resulted in a hospital transport or administrator interaction. If you are required to attend these appointments, you will receive a University sanction or judicial letter outlining this requirement.
