Aileen Lee
Staff Psychologist
Behavioral Medicine
I am a BU alum; where I completed both my BA and MA in Psychology. During that time, I was enrolled as an International student. I grew up in Malaysia, however had spent more than two decades here in Boston and love this city. I received my Clinical Psychology degree from Massachusetts School of Psychology; and had worked in residential setting, community health, college settings and currently also part of a small group practice. My clinical style is more integrative with a stronger focus on psychodynamic and mindfulness approach and being culturally in tuned. I believe that our struggles, thoughts, feelings, and actions are often guided by our past stories, and processing these stories might help us be more thoughtful in our present self. I enjoy listening to others share their experiences and helping them find ways to make peace with their past and strengthen resilience. Often, I believe that life is full of surprises and how we process these surprises helps us move forward from them. Being an International student once has allowed me to have a better understanding of the intricacies in navigating and adjusting to a new culture. I believe that treatment is a collaborative effort, and I work on meeting students where they are at. When I am not working, I work hard on being present and playful with my young child, Netflix and my books are good friends, I also find small pockets of time in my early morning to practice yoga, and food is a central part of my soul.
