Terriers Connect Suicide Prevention Training
Learn how to support someone in distress & connect them to help at BU
Terriers Connect is a suicide prevention training program that teaches you how to recognize signs of distress, best support someone who is struggling, and refer to professional help on campus.
It is a two-hour, interactive training for all members of the BU community. It can be delivered in-person or virtually for groups of faculty, staff, and student groups. Participating in Terriers Connect helps create a community that’s informed about mental health challenges among students and empowered to help.
In Terriers Connect you will:
- Learn about trends in college student mental health
- Understand warning signs that a student may be struggling
- Learn how to refer students to mental health professionals, when appropriate
- Practice communication and relationship-building skills
