SHS Attends Health Equity Training
On the morning of April 2nd, Student Health Services hosted Dr. Yvette Cozier from Boston University School of Public Health for an all-staff training on health equity in research and clinical care.
During the training, healthcare providers and other SHS staff explored the concepts of structural inequities and health disparities and examined how these problems present in the work that is done at SHS. Staff also discussed the social and structural determinants of health that impact the students at Boston University and reflected on strategies to address them in their practice. Finally, staff reviewed the ways in which privilege and power influence research and clinical care.
Student Health Services extends its appreciation to Dr. Cozier for facilitating this training for our staff to explore these critical aspects of our work.
