Arturo Javier Aguilar
Medical Director and Head Team Physician
My father’s side of the family is from Peru, and I am a first-generation American, raised in Los Angeles before later settling in Boston later in life. I love working at BU, as it allows me to support students during a pivotal stage of their growth and development. Teaching Family Medicine Fellows, Athletic Training Residents, and Medical Students is a passion of mine. Beyond academia, I have led international medical missions in the Dominican Republic, New Zealand, and the Kingdom of Tonga, experiences that have deepened my commitment to global health. Outside of work, I cherish time with my wife and two young daughters. I’m an avid outdoors enthusiast and am deeply faith-driven, actively volunteering with my local community church.
