Anthony Berardo

Athletic Trainer

Anthony Berardo joined the Boston University Student Health Services in September of 2025 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. He previously served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Massachusetts (2023-2025) and a Seasonal Certified Athletic Trainer at the United States Naval Academy (2022-2023).
At UMass, Berardo worked with a variety of sport programs, including the women’s lacrosse team, field hockey team, and both men’s and women’s track and field teams. While at USNA, he provided medical coverage and management for the men’s water polo and men’s gymnastics teams, while also assisting with men’s and women’s rugby, club ice hockey and cross country programs. During both of these roles, he provided patients with high-quality and compassionate care, ensuring that all of the patients concerns were addressed during treatments. Additionally, he collaborated with various high-performance staff members, including strength & conditioning coaches, registered dietitians, and mental-health counselors, to ensure wholistic care was provided to his patients.

Berardo’s professional interests include return to play considerations during long-term injury rehabilitations and bridging the gap between strength & conditioning professionals and athletic trainers. In addition, he is very active in professional organizations within athletic training. He has served as the Advisor of the Eastern Athletic Trainers Student Delegation since 2024, a committee which he participated in as an athletic training student.

Outside of work, Berardo enjoys an active lifestyle. You can catch him playing pick-up ice hockey, pickle ball, and hiking. Moreover, he is very active in the community, volunteering as a firefighter & emergency medical technician, a wildland firefighter who has mobilized for operations across the country, and serving the Nation as a member of the Connecticut Army National Guard.

Berardo earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Connecticut before earning a Master of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Connecticut.
