Cadets attend Wargame Simulation

Cadets Mitchell, Smoot, Lin, and Wojtasinski recently attended the Twenty-Third Annual Maritime Symposium hosted by the Navy League of the United States, Massachusetts Bay Council. The Symposium placed Cadets and Midshipmen as the Joint Chiefs of Staff; they were tasked with resolving a hypothetical Iranian mining and blockade of the Straits of Hormuz, which 20% of the world’s oil flows through. The eight Cadet teams then presented their solutions to a panel of distinguished retired Naval officers. Cadet Wojtasinski’s team won ; he said that “The Iranian War Games was a completely different experience. It was amazing to see just how much critical thinking, planning and collaboration went into the strategy behind solving political conflict as well as seeing what is germane to our job as future officers.”
