Assistant Director, Communications Research

Nesrine Hadjiat, MBA, leads strategic communications for the Biological Design Center (BDC), the Center for Systems Neuroscience (CSN), and the Cognitive Neuroimaging Center (CNC) at Boston University, all of which are housed within the Rajen Kilachand Center for Integrated Life Sciences & Engineering.

As Assistant Director of Communications, she manages digital communications and outreach efforts across newsletters, social media, and web platforms to promote research and center initiatives. She develops original content that highlights research achievements, publications, and scientific advancement, while supporting annual reports, maintaining website presence, and designing promotional materials. She works closely with center leadership, faculty, and research staff to identify and amplify impactful stories, and contributes to event promotion and community-focused programming that strengthens collaboration across centers.

Prior to joining the Kilachand Center, Nesrine served as Marketing & Communications Manager at Boston University’s Clinical & Translational Science Institute (BU CTSI) within the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. In this role, she led data-driven communications strategies to elevate translational science and clinical research, developed impact reporting initiatives, and collaborated with investigators, clinicians, and institutional partners to translate complex research into accessible, high-impact content that supports clinical and societal benefit.

She holds an MBA in International Business from Suffolk University and a BS in Business Marketing and Graphic Design, with additional expertise in data science, digital communications, and scientific storytelling.
