Lloyd Munjanja

Director of Research Development

Reporting to the Vice President and Associate Provost for Research, Lloyd joined the Office of Research in 2025 as Director of Research Development. In this role, Lloyd leads efforts to support faculty in securing large-scale, multidisciplinary funding, advancing institutional priorities, and building strategic collaborations across campus. He oversees initiatives to streamline pre-award grant processes and align grant development with emerging federal and foundation funding opportunities.

Prior to joining Boston University, Lloyd served as Senior Community Engagement Officer in the Office of the Vice President for Research at MIT, where he partnered with faculty to submit large proposals to federal agencies and advised senior leadership on equitable research policy, interdisciplinary strategy, and national funding alignment. He also held leadership roles at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he led faculty development initiatives in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as Assistant Dean.

Lloyd holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Rochester and a BS in Chemistry from the College of St. Scholastica.
