Professor Emerita Jean Berko Gleason to Receive Honorary Doctorate from Washington & Jefferson College

The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences is pleased to announce that Professor Emerita Jean Berko Gleason will receive an honorary Doctor of Science from Washington & Jefferson University for her breakthrough research on child language acquisition. These findings, among many in Dr. Gleason’s long and fruitful career, have had a tremendous impact on the fields of psycholinguistics, human development, and others.

Dr. Gleason will be honored alongside civil rights leader and congressman John Lewis, Imam Khalid Latif of the Islamic Center at New York University, and Ellen Stofan, Chief Scientist for NASA. The Department heartily congratulates Dr. Gleason on this honor.
