Dr. Fish has been a medical researcher for more than 25 years. In a variety of forums, Dr. Fish lectures on the design, conduct, and management of clinical trials, as well as research ethics and protection of human research subjects. She teaches courses through the Boston University Schools of Public Health and Medicine, and is frequently an invited speaker nationally. Although she has a long history of research in the areas of clinical toxicology and emergency medicine, Dr. Fish has more recently focused on research ethics in general, and application of the federal regulations for waiver of informed consent in certain emergency research circumstances. Her sabbatical project was consistent with this focus, working as Project Director for PRIM & R’s Accreditation Project to develop a national accreditation system for human research protection programs.
