Paul Duprex

Professor of Microbiology, School of Medicine

Paul Duprex is a molecular virologist and Director of Cell & Tissue Imaging at Boston University’s National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratory (NEIDL). The overarching goal of his research program is to understand the molecular basis of paramyxovirus pathogenesis and attenuation with a view to translating this knowledge into the development and delivery of safe and efficacious vectored vaccines.

Dr. Duprex has over fifteen years experience as a molecular virologist.  He has worked with his laboratory to develop reverse genetics systems for both positive and negative strand RNA viruses. Currently, his group focuses on respiratory paramyxoviruses.
