Koritha Mitchell

Koritha Mitchell is a literary historian and cultural critic. She is also the feminist scholar who coined the term /know-your-place aggression/ to emphasize that marginalized groups are attacked for succeeding, not because they have done something wrong. She is author of two academic books, *Living with Lynching* and *From Slave Cabins to the White House* and editor of the first book-length autobiography by a formerly enslaved African American woman, Harriet Jacobs’s *Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl* (1861). Currently at work on an epistolary memoir about being childfree, Mitchell has published in Time, The Washington Post, Black Perspectives, the Los Angeles Review of Books, Electric Literature, CNN, and MSNBC, among other outlets.
