Background and research interests
Jessica earned her BA in Earth and Planetary Science from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010. She is currently a PhD student at Northwestern University working on understanding the historical seismicity of southern Chile and modeling wave propagation through the interior of the earth. Jessica is interested in understanding where and how the largest earthquakes in the world occur and how tsunami generation varies based on earthquake parameters. Jessica is proficient in Fortran and has worked in C/C++, Python, and parallel computation.
Other Interests
Jessica spent most of her childhood swimming back and forth and back and forth and back and forth in a pool. Now that she has ‘retired’, she likes to run, and play frisbee. Jessica also really enjoys eating cookies, so she has started to learn how to cook and bake.
