Mohammed Abumuaileq is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Biomedical Engineering at Xue Han’s lab at Boston University (Han Lab). He earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester in 2021. His research focuses on two key areas: examining the cellular effects of deep brain stimulation (DBS) in mouse models of epilepsy to enhance therapeutic outcomes and distinguishing between physiologic memory consolidation and pathologic epilepsy biomarkers in mice to optimize resection surgery outcomes for mesial temporal lobe epilepsy. He is expected to graduate in 2026.
