Jaimie Girnis is a PhD candidate in Rehabilitation Sciences. Originally from Binghamton, New York, Jaimie received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Binghamton University and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. Jaimie also completed the one-year Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Program at Boston University. Upon graduating from the residency program, Jaimie passed a specialty examination to become a Neurologic Clinical Specialist in physical therapy. Jaimie is mentored by Dr. Terry Ellis for her PhD training. She aims to utilize fNIRS to study brain activation patterns in persons with Parkinson disease as they engage in various walking tasks.
