Songyang Wang is a fifth-year PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering specializing in synaptic connectomics. He earned his Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, where he researched brain–heart connectivity using a mouse cardiac arrest model. Continuing his passion for neural research, his current project focuses on unraveling the brain’s fundamental wiring motifs by combining electron microscopy (EM) and two-photon (2p) microscopy to reconstruct neurons in the somatosensory cortex. He is currently collaborating with Prof. Wei-Chung Allen Lee from Harvard Medical School and Dr. David Grant Colburn Hildebrand from Rockefeller University
