Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI)

Boston University College of Fine Arts

Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s (BUTI) summer 2024 program, will feature twenty-five programs for instrumentalists, singers, and composers ages 14 through 20 from June 23 to August 17, 2024.

This summer will begin with our Two-Week Workshops where you will have the opportunity to hone your craft in a small group setting. You’ll focus on the fundamentals of technique and musicianship, work alongside new friends in group masterclasses, and perform. Each workshop is tailored to your respective instrument.

The Young Artists Programs for orchestra, wind ensemble, voice, piano, composition, and harp will run for three-to-six weeks. In these programs, you can expect to receive professional standards of training typical of college and conservatory programs. You’ll participate in individual lessons, academic classes, masterclasses, chamber music, and performance.

Because of BUTI’s special relationship with the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO), you have the opportunity to learn and grow through intensive programming in the presence of some of the world’s greatest music professionals and teachers. Our faculty is drawn from the BSO and Boston University, as well as from the BUTI alumni community.

This summer, BUTI will deliver something you can’t find anywhere else. You’ll meet new people, pursue your passion (or discover a new one), and open your mind to the world and the people in it. You’ll step outside your comfort zone to challenge yourself, broaden your perspective, and forge bonds that last a lifetime. Together, it starts here. At Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
