Boston University Summer Theatre Institute (BUSTI)
Boston University College of Fine Arts, School of Theatre
- BUSTI 2025: Program on Hiatus
- Designed for students entering grades 10, 11, or 12
The Boston University Summer Theatre Institute (BUSTI) is a summer experience for highly motivated high school theatre artists. Designed to mirror the first year BFA Core at the Boston University School of Theatre, the Institute encourages participants to expand their interests and abilities within a professional training environment. Students participate in Morning and Afternoon Technique sessions, a Guest Artist Workshop Series, their Experimental Theatre Laboratories, and in the creation of an original piece with members of their Collaborative Theatre Ensemble. Courses may include, and are not limited to, Acting, Design, Improvisation, Theatre for Social Change, Movement, Playwriting, and Production.
Throughout the four-week program, students visit Boston’s historic and cultural offerings to compliment classroom experiences. Students graduate from BUSTI having deepened their intellectual and artistic questioning, their relationship to technique, their playfulness in collaboration, and their ability to tell a dynamic story through the theatrical medium. Students earn 4 college credits for completion of the program. For more information, visit the Boston University Summer Theatre Institute website.
BUSTI will be on hiatus for Summer 2025, as we adjust the program to improve the experience for students.
We plan to return in Summer 2026!
