Applications Now Being Accepted for 2015 Latino Museum Studies Program
The Smithsonian Latino Center (SLC) is currently accepting applications for its 2015 Latino Museum Studies Fellowship Program, which offers an opportunity for graduate students enrolled or engaged in the fields of Latino and Latin American art, culture, and history to focus on developing museum practice.
The Latino Museum Studies Program (LMSP) was created in 1994 to increase the representation, documentation, research, knowledge and interpretation of Latino art, culture and history. The program focuses on developing museum practice within a framework of Latino cultural studies and is offered in two components.
The first weeklong component is designed to enhance leadership, research and creative skills through a series of lectures, workshops, interactive discussions and behind-the-scenes tours of Smithsonian museums and collections. The second four-week component consists of a practicum project with a selected Smithsonian museum.
The application deadline is Friday 4/17/15. To find out more, go here.
