We’re thrilled to announce Andrea Catania as a featured speaker at IDEA Con, the world’s largest cross-university student innovation conference, hosted by Innovate@BU on October 25!

About Andrea

Andrea is a passionate food justice advocate and culinary creative, dedicated to building food systems that are truly equitable for both people and the planet. Born and raised in Central New York, Andrea is a proud, first-generation graduate of The Culinary Institute of America. Since then, she has spent her career working across a variety of food and beverage operations positions in the Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Denver areas. Most recently, she completed her master’s in Gastronomy with a concentration in Food Policy at Boston University Metropolitan College.

Andrea’s work in activism, research, and community engagement has driven impactful projects in farmers’ market reform, urban food access, and environmental sustainability in university dining halls. As a co-founder of EquiTable, she’s helping to shape a more just and sustainable food future. When she’s not advocating for food justice, Andrea enjoys reading, hiking, and exploring regional cuisines on her travels.
