Our theme was:

What is Good Corporate Governance Amid Regulatory Uncertainty?

Where do we want to be?

What metrics should investors/consumers look for?

Good governance remains one of the most important mechanisms to ensure a company is working well. We’re in a time when federal regulations are being pulled back – or even eliminated – highlighting the important role of corporate governance. How should businesses respond? What defines good corporate governance in the current environment? Climate change, occupational health and safety, and employment protections all remain financial risks to companies, but without regulatory guardrails, how do businesses protect themselves and best represent their stakeholders?

Industry leaders and investors are aware of the important role of business in creating value and helping to solve societal challenges, especially in this era of regulatory uncertainty. Economic development and responsible growth will now depend even more on the good governance of businesses in their own boardrooms, as well as in other institutions.

How should we define good governance? What is it that we’re trying to achieve? And what should investors and consumers be looking for?

Our Fall 2025 Workshop will convene industry leaders, academics, and students to delve into these questions. We’ll be hosting individual talks, a panel of experts – with audience Q&A – and small discussion groups among attendees. Our aim is to foster discussion and promote collaboration between academic researchers and industry practitioners on the importance of good governance. We hope this event enables participants to meet new people, hear new perspectives, and inform their thinking on these critical issues in ways that will inspire future work and collaborations.
