PhD Candidate | East German social and economic history
James Brueckel entered the PhD program in 2022 after graduating with a BA in History from the University of Minnesota in May 2021. He studies modern German history with Professor Jonathan Zatlin. James is interested in East German social and economic history, especially interactions with other Soviet Bloc states and the wider world.
