Patrick Browne Awarded Anne J. Bailey Dissertation Prize
History PhD alumnus Patrick Browne was just awarded the Anne J. Bailey Dissertation Prize from the Society of Civil War Historians for his dissertation, “Architects of Civil War Homecoming: Northern Relief Workers and Returning Union Veterans.”
The prize committee called Patrick’s work “compellingly argued and extensively researched,” predicting that it will “become an essential study for specialists.”
