Professor Siegel wins Sardar Patel Award
Please join us in congratulating Professor Ben Siegel, who’s dissertation, “Independent India of Plenty: Food, Hunger, and Nation-Building in Modern India,” won the 2014 Sardar Patel Award for “the best doctoral dissertation on any aspect of modern India – social sciences, humanities, education and fine arts.” The award is given by the Center for India and South Asia at UCLA, where he will be giving a short talk on the project in the middle of May.
