Ms. Selenicah Maruza is the Financial Manager for Merrylight Enterprises, an export agri-business contributing to agricultural development in Zimbabwe. Prior to this role, Ms. Maruza led the Finance department at MyCash Financial Services, a payments system provider offering digital financial services. The role involved working in close partnership with mobile network operators and financial institutions to bring simple and relevant payment services to drive financial inclusion in Zimbabwe.

During the fellowship year, Ms. Maruza plans to advance her knowledge and practical applications on how digital financial solutions can be better designed to drive financial inclusion; remove barriers to financial accessibility in sectors such as agriculture in order drive economic empowerment especially among women and youth in Zimbabwe and Sub Saharan Africa. She looks forward to sharing and gaining practical experience with US-Based organizations in the digital finance services sector and expand her professional network.

Ms. Maruza is a qualified chartered accountant with the institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe and is currently studying to become a Certified Digital Finance Practitioner with the Digital Frontiers Institute.
