Tahiry Rajaonarimanana
Tahiriniaina Rajaonarimanana has 16 years of professional experience in both the private and public sectors. He worked for commercial bank Credit Agricole from 1998 to 2002 as head of the Large Companies Department, and then was a financial and economic specialist for three years on a project supporting private sector growth financed by the World Bank. From 2005 to 2008, he worked as a government officer in charge of the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Madagascar Poverty Reduction Strategy. Since 2011, Tahiry has been the managing director of FUNRECO’s Group, a collection of six companies involved in pension fund and health care services.
Tahiry received a higher degree in banking from the Institut Technique de Banque in Paris, a Master’s in Management from the University of Poitiers France, a higher degree in International Relations from the Centre d’Etudes Diplomatiques et Strategiques, and a Master’s in development economics from the Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Tokyo. During his year as a Humphrey Fellow, Tahiry expects to learn more about financial reform as well as enhance both his knowledge and expertise in financial risk management and its interaction with monetary policy.
