Medical Education and Training
In addition to our programs in International Faculty Development, our in-country initiatives place special emphasis on providing continuing medical education for health professionals around the world who may not otherwise have access to professional development. Our projects aim to create sustainable opportunities for specialized training in order to improve primary care health delivery.
In order to support the development of primary care training programs, the Collaborative offers medical education workshops in:
- Primary care principles and systems
- Clinical teaching
- Curriculum development
- Customized programs based on needs assessments
The Collaborative also offers consultation on the design of training programs within hospitals and institutions. We conduct needs assessments in medical education with a special emphasis on primary care training, and assists in the design and implementation of competency-based medical education programs throughout the world. The Collaborative tailors its approach to specific regional and local circumstances and needs, and places special emphasis on training-of-trainer programs to strengthen the medical teaching infrastructure of clinics, hospitals and academic institutions.
