In the world of food studies, imagination is the only limit to the kind of career you can develop. At Boston University’s Metropolitan College (MET), Food Studies alumni have at least one thing in common: their careers tend to be uncommon. That’s because thinking about food in the world demands innovation and creativity—two traits that guide our graduates on their career journeys.
You will find MET Food Studies alums in media and publishing or pursuing food systems work in non-profits and NGOs. They are entrepreneurs in industries such as business and consulting or hospitality and food tourism. They are authors or have roles in academia and cultural institutions, engaging in research and passing along vital knowledge. And many have culinary careers that range from the restaurant and beverage industries or care work in senior living facilities to globe-trotting positions such as chef-instructor on a cruise ship.
