Karen Jacobs, OT, EdD, OTR, CPE, FAOTA, is a Clinical Professor of Occupational Therapy at Boston University’s Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences and Program Director of the online post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. A member of the BU community for more than 40 years, Jacobs is internationally recognized for her work in occupational therapy, ergonomics, and human-centered approaches to technology. She was recently selected as a Google for Education Higher Ed Faculty AI Fellow, building on her work exploring how artificial intelligence can advance health, well-being, occupational performance, and learning. She is also the founding editor-in-chief of WORK: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment & Rehabilitation and an Institute Faculty Liaison for BU’s Institute for Excellence in Teaching & Learning.
