How can students register to enroll in the AI at BU student certificate course?
To register for the course, please follow these steps:
- Visit this link: https://bit.ly/aiatbu
- Use the keyword filter “AI at BU”
- Click “Enroll”
- You’ll see the course in Blackboard within a few hours!
Once enrolled, where can I find and complete the AI at BU student certificate course?
Log in to Blackboard at learn.bu.edu/ultra using your BU credentials. Under Courses / Current Courses, the AI at BU Certificate should show up. Students should see the AI at BU course in Blackboard within 6 hours of registering in MyBU Student. They can access the material at any time and work through the modules at their own pace.
Are graduate students eligible for the course?
Yes! All currently enrolled graduate students are eligible to take the course.
Is the new AI at BU certificate free of charge?
Yes! All currently enrolled students can take the course free of charge.
How long does it take to complete the course? Do I have to complete the course all at once, or can I complete portions of it at a time?
Our estimate is a time commitment of around 4-5 hours. It is self-paced, so you can complete as little or as much at a time as you like.
Where will I find the certificate after completing the course?
The certificate is available for you to print within Blackboard after course completion.
Who should I contact if I encounter any error messages when registering for the course?

Will this course appear on my BU transcript?
Yes, it will appear as a non-credit course “XRGAI 500 AI at BU” counting for 0.0 units with no grade listed.
Questions From Faculty & Staff
Are faculty able to register for the AI at BU student certificate course?
Yes, but the course is primarily designed for undergraduates. We recommend faculty come to our In-Studio Workshops for Faculty to collaboratively learn the material in an in-person, collaborative 2-hour session. Faculty can register for workshops on the AIDA website. Faculty interested in registering for the certificate course can register through the staff/faculty login for the My BU portal and follow the instructions under the “AI at BU Student Course for Faculty” menu item under the Faculty Resources section.
Are staff able to register for the AI at BU student certificate course?
Yes, but the course is primarily designed for undergraduates. We recommend staff come to our Forthcoming In-Studio Workshops for Staff to collaboratively learn the material in an in-person, collaborative 2-hour session. To access the student certificate course, staff will need to first request a Blackboard account through an IS&T help ticket and then can request access to the student course by filling out this Qualtrics form.
