Using PowerPoint

We recommend using Microsoft PowerPoint as a tool for both presenting slides as well as writing and drawing in class. The following guide will run through starting a meeting, sharing your screen, and writing/drawing in PowerPoint.

  1. Open your slides in PowerPoint.
  2. From the Zoom desktop application, start the meeting
  3. In the meeting click Share Screen” in the main window or from the menu bar
  4. Select “PowerPoint” from the tiles of open applications. Then click “Share”
  5. Go to PowerPoint and start the presentation from the “Slide Show” button at the bottom right of the window
  6. Right-click on a slide you wish to draw on, then select “Pointer Options” then “Pen”
  7. Write/draw on the slide.
  8. Advance to through the slides with the arrow keys or go back to “Pointer Options” and de-select “Pen”
  9. End the presentation, and decide whether to “Keep” your ink annotations.
