Using PowerPoint
We recommend using Microsoft PowerPoint as a tool for both presenting slides as well as writing and drawing in class. The following guide will run through starting a meeting, sharing your screen, and writing/drawing in PowerPoint.
Windows/macOS Desktop Application
- Open your slides in PowerPoint.
- From the Zoom desktop application, start the meeting
- In the meeting click “Share Screen” in the main window or from the menu bar
- Select “PowerPoint” from the tiles of open applications. Then click “Share”
- Go to PowerPoint and start the presentation from the “Slide Show” button at the bottom right of the window
- Right-click on a slide you wish to draw on, then select “Pointer Options” then “Pen”
- Write/draw on the slide.
- Advance to through the slides with the arrow keys or go back to “Pointer Options” and de-select “Pen”
- End the presentation, and decide whether to “Keep” your ink annotations.
