Undergraduate Advising

Any Economics undergraduate student can receive academic advising from our team of advisors. Katarina Stewart, Kayla Maher, Mavis Manaloto, and Katie Hennessey are the advisors for Economics students. Please feel free to reach out to them directly via email for any questions relating to majors, minors, dual-degree programs, studying abroad, transfer questions, honors programs, internships, or on-campus resources. 

As an Economics major, you should have an assigned advisor in MyBU. If you do not have an assigned advisor or are not a declared Economics student who has academic questions, please reach out to the advisor that would cover your last name.

Hours of Operation:

The Advising Office is open Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm. Individual advisor availability for meetings can be found on MyBU for current Economics students or Calendly for non-majors. Drop-in availability for advisors can be found below. The Advising Office is closed during weekends, University holidays, and any other days the University is closed.

Economics Drop-In Hours:

Drop-ins are available for students who need to see an advisor on short notice. In general, drop-ins should be used for quick questions and are limited to 15 minutes or less. Please note that drop-ins are on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to Book an Appointment:

For Current Economics Students:

  1. Go to the MyBU Student dashboard and select Advising > Appointments > New Appointment
  2. Under ‘Department,’ select CAS UGRD ECONOMICS
  3. Under ‘Select an Advisor,’ select your advisor’s name.
  4. Make sure to also complete ‘Meeting Type’ (i.e. what type of appointment you want), the meeting mode (i.e. Zoom or in-person, as available), and a brief but detailed summary of what you’d like to discuss in our meeting.
  5. Scroll through the available calendar to select a date and time that works for you. Please note: we cannot schedule same-day appointments, and we schedule no more than two weeks in advance. If the availability doesn’t work for your schedule, please check back in a day or two to see additional appointments. 

For Non-Economics Students:
