Fields: Industrial Organization and Health Economics
Nilay Kafali is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Boston University. She teaches various courses at the undergraduate level including Econometrics and Intermediate Microeconomic Theory. Her primary research fields are health economics and industrial organization. Her current research interests include health care costs and utilization, analyzing changes in market structures, and the economic burden of mental illness. Dr. Kafali has a strong background in applied econometrics and computational methods, including panel data methodology and quasi-experimental designs. She received her BA in Economics from Cornell University and Ph.D. from Boston University.
