What do we know and understand disability to be?

This video, developed by BU Diversity and Inclusion in the 2021-2022 series Learn More Series, discusses how communities can build spaces of resistance. In this video disability rights activist, Judy Heumann explains her experiences as a Jewish person with a disability. In this video, Judy explains the difficulties of finding sources of liberation due to the continued marginalization of people with disabilities, especially those at the margins of additional social and economic power dynamics. Judy argues that although disability is at the table, people with disabilities are continually erased and their position in social justice discourse is not stable.
