I have been an active member at the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton for more than 25 years. It is an inclusive, welcoming congregation that encourages participation in many forms. The religious education program for kids is excellent, and many individuals are engaged in social action activities, including sponsoring new immigrants, teaching art to prisoners, environmental protection, racial justice, and many other projects. And the music is terrific. While UU roots are in liberal Christianity, many of our members are from Jewish, Buddhist, and other backgrounds.
