Inclusive Leaders Program
Advanced DEI training for BU managers
The Inclusive Leaders Program is a training series for BU leaders seeking to develop inclusive, equity-based practices for their teams and workplace community. The program follows a cohort-based model, with 12 hours of training over two six-hour sessions.
Goals
Through intensive group work and co-created learning, participants will:
- Develop the racial and cultural literacies needed to build a consistent practice of equity and inclusion at BU, including a deep understanding of race, racism, whiteness, and white supremacy culture.
- Engage in multiple management tools for equity and inclusion change work, including norm-setting, positionality assessments, power mapping, and structural/systemic approaches.
- Implement tools that foster psychological safety, create accountability, and center marginalized identities in management and decision-making.
Enrollment
To enroll in the program, managers must meet the following criteria:
- be a full-time BU faculty or staff member
- supervise at least one direct report, who is a full-time BU employee
- be able to commit to all program dates (see below)
Participation in Inclusive Leaders is limited to 27 participants. Registrations are accepted on a rolling, first-come-first-serve basis. Because of the program’s time commitment, we ask that participants discuss the opportunity with their managers before enrolling.
Please see the calendar below for details on enrollment deadlines and the training schedule. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Francie Latour at flatour@bu.edu.
